Lesson 7
Theme:
• Helps
• Servant
• Mercy

Goal:
-To understand these gifts and determine if I have these gifts?
1) Pray
2) Review

-Which gifts do we know?
-What are they for?
-Which do I see in myself?
-How do I minister with them?

Motivation:
We have looked at the obvious gifts that are clearly visible to others. But if I do not have these gifts, how is it possible to minister (serve) for the building up of the church? So, what gifts are we talking about today?

Gift of Helps
Definition
• Making things easier on people
• Helping the week and needy

How do they appear?
• see needs
• setting your own example (Paul)
• organizing others to help through the power of the Holy Spirit
• they are needed in leadership
• they minister with pleasure and ability
• they meet material needs of believers as well as spiritual, moral and time
• take on discomfort to make it easier for others

Example:
Jesus Christ
Paul
Holy Spirit

Warnings
• must not do everything for everybody
• must not work alone, but on a team

Gift of Service
Definition
• a servant in the church
• leader’s helper
• fulfilling a specific ministry (deacon)

How do they appear?
• not everyone has this
• frees up leaders of the church for ministry of the Word and prayer
• are chosen from among those in the church
• tested and proved
• filled with the Holy Spirit
• ordained
• serve those who serve the Lord

Example:
Angels
Mark
Timothy
Erastus
Epaphroditus
Onesimus
Onesiphorus (to Paul and the saints in prison)

Warnings:
• at first try and then start a ministry

Gift of Mercy
Definition
• an ability from God to be attentive, sympathetic, rejoicing with and working with someone
• sympathetic in practice

How do they appear?
• they understand people’s situation better than others
• a person who cries with the crying
• they don’t close their hearts to the needs of others
• they are afflicted with even stranger’s sorrows
• they seek out the weak, the sick and the least likely people
• good team players
• they open the doors for many organizations
• kindness
• sympathy and mercy in practice
• don’t have the ability to turn somebody away

Warnings
• guard against helping everyone to the detriment of your own family
• needs to be able to organize others and have your needs met within them as well


Result:
• will be forgiven
• peace will be in the church

The findings for each gift:
What is in common? –from God
You may not have this gift, but it appears incidentally.
If you do not have this gift, don’t get upset. Give others a chance to minister for you.

Мы прошли явные дары, которые ярко видны другим, а если нет у меня этих даров,
то как могу служить для созидания церкви? О таких дарах сегодня речь.

Выводы по каждому дару:
Что общего? - от Бога
Могу не иметь этого дара, но он появляется эпизодически
Нет этого дара, не огорчайтесь. Дайте возможность послужить другим для вас

-What could change the state of the church?
-Which gifts do we know? In what do they appear?
-What gift do I have?

Questions about Leader, Head Director; Administrator, Manager; Giver
Leader
Definition
• out front
• lead his/her own
• assumes responsibility, care

How do they appear? Hebrews 13:7-17
• preach the Word of God, imitate Paul
• faithful unto death
• never tire watching out for souls
• care for with joy
• with peace to all people
• wait for the coming (Second) of Christ
• do not eat the bread of gifts [ceremonial foods, verse 9]

Responsibility John 13:12-17
•show and be the example of love and do not consider yourself higher than others
Hebrews 13:7-17
• care for others with joy
• emulate good
• work very hard

What should be feared? Don’t be:
• self-loving
• proud
• flattery
• or don’t take on the form of godliness (piety)
• rigid

Administrator, Manager
Definition
• fulfills, directs business in the necessary way or direction
• leader

How they appear?
• active ministry
• love?
• they trust him

Responsibility
• be aware of everything going on in the church and respond accordingly
• submit to the head

What should be feared?
Don’t be:
• self-loving
• proud
• flattery
• or don’t take on the form of godliness (piety)
• rigid

Giver
Definition
• simply shares materials generously
• gives from hand to hand

How do they appear?
• gives generously
2 Cor.8:1-5
• participates in ministry (service) of saints
• gives what has and not what does not have
• sees needs of others and acts immediately
• they are alert to the needs of others

Responsibility
• are able to see the needs of others
• do not pity yourself for others
• above all things supports the church
• seeks the will of God about giving one’s money to others

What should be feared?
• act in the spirit not in the flesh
• do not rely on your own mind
• don’t spend everything on yourself
• do not collect treasures for yourself on earth
• know that God keeps a record of our money, time

Conclusion:

Are you a manager?
Are you a giver?
How does this gift show itself in you?
Do you know any people from the church who have this gift?
